Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British-American sitarist as well as a music producer. She was the first and first female to win a British House of Commons Shield she's received 9 Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian origin to play live and to be a presenter for the award ceremony. Anoushka is a new star on the rise in Indian sitar. She is a student as well as daughter to Ravi Shankar. She spent her childhood bouncing between London and New Delhi. In the age of thirteen she performed her first performance in New Delhi. She graduated in 1999 from her high school studies in Encinitas CA. Although she is still very young Anouskha is a star in her performing and recording record. She regularly accompanies her father in performances this she has been doing for a number of years. She released Anourag her debut album on her own in 1998. Her Grammy-nominated Live At Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. She has performed at most major venues around the globe. Anoushka isn't only a singer. Bapi The Love of My Life is an illustrated biography she wrote in 2002. It pays special tributes to her late father Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she was a part in Dance Like a Man as the Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka Shakar's career as a professional will continue to grow and develop. We can look forward to seeing many different things that she does. Anoushka was a frequent traveler and spent lots of traveling between London and Delhi throughout her childhood. After that, she moved to California for high school. In Delhi on his birthday, which was celebrated at the age of 75 she made her debut playing the sitar in front of an audience four years following her nine-year-old father. Anoushka performed with her father during his world tour, gained an impressive quantity of knowledge. When she was in her teens, she performed at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison. To honor her position as one of the top musicians in Asian Arts, she was presented with the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
